In 2010, the Health & Fitness 4 Minority Women Inc. (HF4MW) faced the challenge of minority women physical and mental health has become the poorest which leads them to increased obesity, overweight, poor nutrition, and mental distress. It's not news that Americans are dealing with an obesity epidemic. But the problem is particularly acute among African-American women. Four in five African-American women are obese or overweight, according to the U.S. Office of Minority Health, and carrying those excess pounds can spike the risk for several conditions including heart disease, Type 2 diabetes, high blood

pressure and stroke. To raise awareness HF4MW Inc "Go Blue For Minority Women - is a social initiative and is designed to help improve and give minority women the tools to living a healthy and quality lifestyle.


OUR MISSION:

To improve the health through administering health education programs, resources and physical fitness regiments to minority women in rural local communities. To establish networking relationships and to implement initiatives addressing minority women health issues.


THE GOAL:

To empower minority women by bringing awareness of the issue of poor physical and mental health and also action to change their health behaviors in living a healthy life of longevity. The movement challenges minority women to understand their risks for various chronic diseases and physical and mental conditions by taking the action to reduce the risks.

WHY THE BLUE:

The BLUE symbolizes Health. In 2011, HF4MW Inc and other related organizations joined together to raise awareness for minority women physical and mental health concerns. This symbol was created to bring together all organizations that's committed to fighting this cause. Together we can beat the raise of obesity and other physical and/or mental health issues

minority women face.


HOW DO WE USE OUR FUNDS:

HF4MW Inc. uses all funds from local activities to support health education awareness, research, and community health programs to improve minority women health. These funds allow HF4MW Inc. to offer health education workshops, motivational and self-enhancement programs and physical fitness programs and mental consultations to enhance minority women overall health issue. So far HF4MW Inc has engaged over 3 thousand minority women by educating them on obesity and mental health issues. The funding also support research which provides the appropriate knowledge for minority women to know about physical and mental health concerns. We value all of our supporters and communities.


THE IMPORTANCE OF SPONSORS:

Financial support from corporations helps fund HF4MW Inc programs and initiatives to advance the mission to build healthier lives, free of chronic diseases, poor physical health and mental distress. We continuously seek ways to increase communication within the community/public creating tools and resources to help them manage and prevent obesity and overall physical health. Our funds from sponsorships allows us to increase our educational resources such as manuals, websites, etc... to provide information for minority women at their level of understanding.
